Friday, October 23 to Sunday, October 25, 2009
Imagine the thrill and prestige of having your artwork on display in the Grand Hall at the McMichael, one of Canada’s best-known art galleries. Each year, the McMichael Volunteer Committee brings together some of Canada’s most talented artists for their Annual Autumn Art Sale. Funds raised at this event support the Volunteer Committee’s initiatives, including children’s education at the gallery and the popular Sunday Concert Series featuring artists of the Canadian Amateur Musicians Association.
This year’s 19th Annual Autumn Art Sale will present fine art from all genres; landscape, still life, folk art and contemporary works, as well as sculpture. All submitted works will be juried by a selection committee comprised of such qualified people as gallery personnel, retail professionals, art collectors, and others with a strong background in art. A total of forty places are available for the top artists. Ten of our most successful artists from the previous year’s sales will automatically be invited back. In 2008, the committee received over 200 applications from Canadian artists wishing to participate in this event.
Last year’s Annual Autumn Art Sale sold over 225 works of art, bringing in a record-breaking $117,000 in art sales. Over $40,000 were raised in support of Volunteer Committee programs.
We invite you to be part of this year’s event. Your participation will introduce your work to Canada’s art lovers and also help the McMichael Volunteer Committee achieve its fundraising objectives.
