John O’Brian, the author of Ruthless Hedonism: The American Reception of Matisse and various articles on J.W. Morrice, will highlight the personal and artistic relationship between Morrice and Matisse leading up to the First World War.

A Modernist Approach to Colour, with Martha Eleen

This process-based painting course investigates the role of colour in the structure of a composition. Participants will produce a series of studies to use as resources for a larger work.
