The Light of Exile: Morrice and Lyman, with Michèle Grandbois

Saturday, October 4, 11:30 am to 12:30 pm
Part of Speaker Series

Michèle Grandbois, curator of the exhibition Morrice and Lyman in the Company of Matisse, will discuss why the fathers of modern Canadian painting decided to choose exile and extend their stay in Paris beyond their years of study, as well as traveling to North Africa and the Caribbean islands. This special presentation will address the artists’ quest to find places of light, their friendship and like-mindedness, and the Canadian reception of their work.

Please note: This presentation will be offered in French with real-time English translation.
