Canada Day at the McMichael

11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The McMichael will be celebrating Canada Day with cake, music, and photography related programming. Enjoy our national holiday at the only gallery devoted to collecting exclusively Canadian art.

Schedule of events:

11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Discover an old-fashioned way of taking pictures with Lomography Gallery Store Toronto and experiment with an analogue La Sardina camera. These photography workshops have a capacity of 20 cameras each. Tickets, which are free with gallery admission, will be distributed at the admission desk.

1:00 p.m. Hon. Maurizio Bevilacqua PC, Mayor of Vaughan will bring greetings from the City followed by Minister Julian Fantino who will offer a few remarks before the singing of our national anthem. Also, enjoy a serving of our annual birthday cake.

2:00 p.m. Join us for a performance of Eh?!, new and old Canadian music, with fiddler and singer Anne Lederman and her band. Visit annelederman.com.

3:00 p.m. Learn about the challenges of photographing nature in a presentation entitled The Art of Seeing: The View from My Lens, by nature photographer Garry Conway, described by Canadian Geographic Magazine as "elegant and visually poetic".
