Art of Meditation, Compassion
Saturday, February 16
10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Part of Adult Lifestyle Workshops
Discover the relaxing world of meditation and the many benefits associated with this ancient practice through the second of four sessions. Each session begins with an art-inspired investigation on one of four themes: Forgiveness, Compassion, Gratitude, and Faith, followed by a one-hour meditation with Anna Naccarato, who will guide you on a journey to inner awareness and self-discovery. The session ends with a tea ceremony brought to you by The Green Door Teahouse. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring a pillow, eye pillow, and blanket. Yoga mats will be provided. Compassion: Love is a verb, a word of action, and compassion is its cornerstone. Suffering is universal and acts of compassion reveal our inter-connectedness, shifting humanity from “I” to “We”.
March 16, Gratitude: An attitude of gratitude leaves no room for arrogance, conceit, or egotism, but helps us to recognize we are loved and cared for by others and to trust our spirituality.
April 20, Faith: We have the ability to create a vision of what we want our life to be. Faith is the springboard upon which we leap in order to learn, grow, and change to manifest this vision into reality.
