Adult Programs - Studio Courses & Workshops

McMichael Studio Classes are designed to introduce and foster development of the basic techniques and tools of visual expression and to nurture the unique creativity of each participant.

Studio Courses and Workshops - On-going

Public Programs offers studio courses and workshops in a variety of media from drawing and painting to printmaking and photography. All of our instructors are both practicing artists and experienced educators. Courses are open to all levels of students from beginner to advanced, unless otherwise stated.

This beginner class will introduce participants to drawing with pencils, water soluble pencils, conté, and charcoal.

Painting Studio - Intermediate Class, with Lorne McDermott

Led by McMichael instructor, Lorne McDermott, this course will develop participants’ painting skills and provide them with a better understanding of acrylic and water-soluble oil painting techniques.

Drawing Studio – Introduction to Figure Drawing, with Christine Lynett

While continuing to develop the technical skills needed to handle various drawing tools such as pencils, conté, charcoal, and pastels, this class will focus on drawing the human form.
