100% Canadian at the McMichael: The Art of Musik

May 1, 2008 Kleinburg, ON – On May 30, 2008, the McMichael Canadian Art Collection
will be hosting its major annual fundraising event, 100% Canadian at the McMichael.
Guests will enjoy an exclusive evening filled with a performance by Tafelmusik, one of the
world’s top baroque orchestras, and a gourmet dinner specially created by award-winning
Via Allegro Ristorante. The spectacular musical performance will take place within the
Northwest Coast Gallery and guests will enjoy an exclusive post performance reception
with Music Director Jeanne Lamon and the musicians of Tafelmusik.
“This is the first time ever that a performance of this calibre will take place within our
gallery spaces,” said Vaughan Regional Councillor Joyce Frustaglio, Co-Chair of the event. “It’s going to be an extraordinary affair with remarkable food and inspired music
surrounded by world-renowned Canadian art from the collection.”
100% Canadian at the McMichael, which will be held at the gallery (10365 Islington
Avenue), begins at 5:30 p.m. Funds raised at this event are in support of the McMichael’s
exceptional exhibitions and educational programs.
John Di Poce and Family, Nashville Landowners Group, Castlepoint Investments Inc., and Century Grove Homes are the presenting sponsors for the evening. Honourary patrons include; John Di Poce and Family, Silvio DeGasperis, Jack Eisenberger, Mario Romano, and Goffredo Vitullo.
The prestigious 100% Canadian at the McMichael fundraiser is expected to be a sold-out
event with many political, corporate and other notable personalities in attendance.
VIP Patron’s Package of ten tickets for $5,000 or individual tickets at $500 each are still

The McMichael Canadian Art Collection is an agency of the Government of Ontario and
acknowledges the support of the Ministry of Culture. It is the foremost venue in the country
showcasing the Group of Seven and their contemporaries. In addition to touring
exhibitions, its permanent collection consists of more than 5,500 artworks, including
paintings by the Group of Seven and their contemporaries, First Nations and Inuit artists.
