Manager, Retail Sales
Reporting to the Director, Finance and Operations, the Manager, Retail Sales is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the McMichael gallery store which includes sales, visual merchandising, stock control, online store operations, financial reporting, and the hiring / training / supervising / development of retail staff and volunteers. The Manager is also responsible for unique product sourcing, product development and other retail opportunities.
The Manager's primary job function is to ensure the success of the store by driving sales and profitability while directing all aspects of store operations. The Manager will create a dynamic environment that motivates visitor's to buy, increases customer loyalty and engages staff.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandise Management or a related field and a minimum of 5 years managerial experience in an arts organization retail operation, with a knowledge of trends, best practices, and success metrics in E-commerce. Excellent managerial, customer service and verbal and written communication skills are required. Knowledge of French, Canadian Art and experience with Lightspeed SQL and online retail are assets. Work hours include weekends and evenings.
