Exhibition Coordinator (1 year contract)

Reporting to the Chief Curator, the Exhibition Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of the McMichael exhibition program, the project management of exhibitions and the administration of in-house developed and touring exhibitions. Working with Curators and Registration, the Exhibition Coordinator will call for exhibition-specific committees and organize and oversee the project, focus groups and information sessions as required for exhibitions; including the preparation of agendas and summarising action steps.
The Exhibition Coordinator will share exhibition information to all staff as required, and provide exhibition scheduling and reference packages to internal departments for promotional, marketing and interpretation and to provide tour packages to prospective venues. The Exhibition Coordinator will coordinate the production of all label, panel, vinyl and other text material for exhibitions. According to projects, the Exhibition Coordinator may be required to obtain quotes for shipping, insurance etc. as required for planning of multi-year exhibition budgets.
The successful candidate will have at least five years experience in exhibition organization and coordination within a public gallery or museum and a graduate degree in Fine Arts, Curatorial /Museum Studies, or other related disciplines. The Exhibition Coordinator will have excellent organization and communication skills to regularly share and communicate information. Use of The Museum System (TMS) database and/or working knowledge of French and other language(s) are assets.
