Educator - Contract Position
Position: Educator
Duration of contract: October 4 - December 24, 2010
Hours: Monday to Friday 9:15 – 3:45 (6 hours)
Requirements:
- The job requires a Bachelor degree in art, education, museum studies, or another relevant discipline; excellent public presentation and communication skills; and teaching experience.
- Familiarity with McMichael tour and studio programs is an important asset.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Professionally delivers established educational tours and programs to school, private, adult and corporate groups consistent with McMichael Canadian Art Collection practices. Tours and programs are delivered both on-site and off-site as outreach programs.
- Supervises students and helps with studio preparation, through the lunch hour as required.
- Studio preparation and support with tour/studio material organization, and independent learning related to exhibitions.
- Attends and participates in department and gallery meetings, staff training, and lecture sessions.
